College Lame Day

Nothing tops USC fans (who can hardly be roused out of bed before noon to make it to class) halfheartedly going through the motions on "College Game Day." When you consider that the game in question is a good eight hours away . . . Yah-Dude. Whatever.

Ah, that's the alma mater I love.

There was this good sign: "CHARLIE ATE THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY."

Ate the chocolate factory. Now that's funny.

Yes,it did seem to be early out there in Tinsel Town. But the best moment of College Lame Day happened at the conclusion of one those lame, fill up the dance card, maudlin pieces about human tragedy. As they serenely transitioned to a commercial, someone in the audience hollered "The four horseman were gay."

I assume it came from one of those University of Spoiled Children. Perfect timing.

PS DesertRose posted your Rivalry piece on the SunDevil Message Board. Got some positive feedback.

Except . . . right. Odd year. Game was in Tempe. And JJ's catch was earlier. Ahh. We do what we can.
