And with both teams having a bye next Saturday, it's not too early to talk a little junk re Arizona State and USC, and their Thanksgiving evening tangle . . .
. . . a game I realized last night, as soon as I heard Illinois had beaten Ohio State, that may very well have Rose Bowl implications.
C'mon, Robbie-Boy, how do you size them up?

One thing to worry about: Kansas or Oklahoma passing Oregon in the BCS standings even if the Ducks win out. It could happen, since Oregon doesn't have any significant games left. If that happens, then USC is out of luck for the Rose Bowl.
Believe me, it's a worry. In that case, I'd guess USC/ASU goes to the Fiesta.
Here's a start...more to follow.
GOD I WISH WE WERE PLAYING SANCHEZ NOT BOOTY!
I wish WE were playing Keller and not Carpenter.
Can't have everything.
Booty hasn't been real solid this year. If the passing game goes awry, there's always Chauncey Washington and the ground attack. (Please, not Joe McKnight, who has talent but needs to make better decisions on the ground.) The dinged-up Trojan O-line seems to be blocking better for the RBs now.
USC will have to have some success passing the ball. Teams have not been able to run consistently against ASU. Of course, the same applies to the Trojans. USC and ASU are #'s 1 and 2 in PAC 10 rushing defense.
I love it when #1 and #2 collide, regardless of what is being measured by the rankings. It's a cliche, but defense wins championships, so I'll be looking forward to seeing how the two perform against each other's offenses. If Sarkisian is in form, he'll have Booty throw deep on first (maybe even second) down to try to set up the run.
