It was important that Joba have a good outing yesterday due to the current hole in the rotation. As Jay Greenberg said in the NYPost:
"But for a team that leads the American League in runs scored, that trails the Red Sox by a game in the AL East, and that has a four-game loss-column cushion for the wild card, the necessity for another starter comes down to whether Joba Chamberlain can work into seventh innings."
PS Due to "Old Timers Day" festivities, the game started an hour later than normal and gave me a chance to watch a fellow "old man" shine on the links but, with a sad ending.
